Nauplios
Crawford had a wish list, or a set of criteria for the ideal Ovni - this included the size - he wanted a 3 berth 43.5' with a forward facing chart table. Whenever an Ovni of this specification became available, he would rake through the advert and decide whether it was worth the effort/expense/time to go and view the boat.
Eventually, Nauplios came up for sale. She was in a small marina in Western France, close to Sables D'olonne in la Vendee.
On a cold, wintery January weekend in 2014 we flew to Nantes, and went to view Nauplios with our friends Steven and Francine - of North sea Maritime (www.northseamaritime.com)
We stepped onto Nauplios and I immediately knew Crawford was very happy!
The formalities took a few months, there were a couple of inspections, Crawford met the previous owner - a lovely French Oncologist called Philipe, who was a bit busy with his job, and a few more children to give the boat the time she deserved.
A couple more trips out to Sables D'Olonne and the deal was done, the euros had been parted with, hands were shaken. Crawford is now the owner and captain of an Ovni 435
